Members Information

Membership Requirements:

All club members and potential candidates must be active members of the National Rifle Association (NRA). They must obey all posted range and safety rules, and remain in good standing with the body of members of this organization. Members are expected to try to play an active role in the support and development of our club's future. This could be anything from work on the backstops, picking up trash, or sponsoring trustworthy individuals seeking membership. Every effort, no matter how small contributes to the welfare of our organization.

Range Tips for Members:

Try to attend as many meetings per year as possible. We'd like to see all of you from time to time, and hear your opinions, or at least to eat dinner with us.

Range safety comes first, THEN Range Courtesy. We can't stress the issue of range safety enough. Our range has been blessed with many successful years of shooting activities without any major injuries beyond a twisted ankle or a hot casing down the shirt collar. Let's keep it that way!  Range Courtesy evolves from Range Safety, which means looking out for all other persons present at the range, AND our neighbors. This is the heart of what Ridge Rifle Association is all about, and we ask it of YOU.

No alcohol or drugs on the range, at any time.

Eye and ear protection are not an option. You are responsible for making sure that you wear the right gear while the firing line is active. Make sure that those in your party wear theirs too.

Shot Placement - any shot not being fired directly into a backstop is considered improper. We know this is difficult to do with the 3 or 4 foot target frames, and shots may end up in the ground leading to the backstop.

Please remove your targets when you are finished on the firing line. They may end up on our neighbor's land. We now have improved fencing between us, but garbage is still making it's way off of the club property.

There are only three types of targets that you can currently use on our range - those made of paper, wood (NOT the target frames), or shooting clays.
Targets made of steel or any other deflective materials are currently not allowed on the range. This also includes metal target frames. You MUST use wooden frames at all times. This issue may change in the future if we can make improvements in our barricades on the perimeter of the club property.

If you see anything of a suspicious nature on the club property, or need to report a vandalism, you can contact the Webmaster here by email (see page footer below), or any of our officers listed on the Contact page.

Treat our neighbors with greatest respect at all times. Our property neighbors have been good to us, and many of them are members.
